My name is Taylor. I like Jesus, hugs, cats, vanilla lattes, sparkly things, and making people look and feel beautiful. Most days, I’m Taylor the Tailor, fixing items large and small, from hems to wedding dresses. When I’m not hand-sewing sequins, you’ll find me dyeing my hair, baking up a storm, learning Korean, or watching Netflix documentaries with a glass of wine cuddled up next to my cat – sometimes all at the same time. If I randomly break out into song, that’s completely normal, and singing along is encouraged.

If you want the technical stuff: I graduated from Texas Tech University with a BS in Apparel Design and Manufacturing with a minor in Retail. I’ve worked for Zappos.com as an assistant buyer of off-price apparel and footwear brands totaling over $30M in sales. I was also a video production stylist for all product videos on site for footwear and accessories. I worked as an apparel stylist as well as an editorial stylist, shooting for site placement and social media blasts. I have been a tailor at Kana Clothes for two years.

Everyday is a new adventure, altering items that run the gamut from pant hems to creating a corset in a wedding dress. I take great care to meticulously fit each garment so as to appear to “magically fit” without the appearance of any sort of alteration. I have great knowledge of a variety of sewing machines so as to seamlessly (no pun intended) match the finish to the item. From hand sewing to serging, you can trust me with your wardrobe!

As an online stylist, worked one-on-one with clientele all across America, styling women for special occasions, closet updates, and everyday workwear. Worked with hundreds of brands to create complete outfits suitable to the clients’ body type, budget, and style preference. Provided a personal connection and excellent service, ensuring that first time customers became repeat customers. 

Zappos.com

While working with Zappos, I began as an assistant buyer, negotiating closeout buys of footwear brands, with sales totaling more than $30M. I created monthly price point sales based on inventory and trends, and developed mutually beneficial relationships with vendors, assistants, and VIPs at affiliated brands. I moved on to styling photo shoots for emails, banners, and landing pages in studio and on location. I directed and oversaw the styling of five private label clothing brands on site and on all social media platforms and assisted with apparel product styling when needed. As a video content stylist, I created and styled product videos for over 440 footwear and 160 bag brands. When needed, I personally filmed and created up to 120 product videos per day.
